The Onaqui Wild Horse HMA (herd management area) is located in the West Desert and encompasses 321 square miles just a short drive southwest from Salt Lake City, Utah. The picturesque valley extends from Johnson's Pass to Lookout Pass and offers background views of the Cedar Mountains, Stansbury Mountains and Simpson Mountains.
Private tours are provided year round to provide photographers a unique photographic opportunity to find and capture images of these iconic wild horses. Tours are taylored to accomodate any skill level and a 4x4 vehicle is used to reach remote mountain and/or desert areas.

8 Hour or Sunrise to Sunset Private Safaris

he ulitmate photo safari to provide avid photographers an entire eight hours or a full day sunrise to sunset experience on the range.
You can choose to capture the horses bathed in epic lighting either early morning or as the sun sets with an 8 hour safari or see it all with a Sunrise to Sunset Safari.
The extra time mid-day provides for endless opportunities to explore different family bands, meet both the North & South herd & to observe more active periods with the Onaqui at the watering holes.
